We didn't lose, we just ran out of time...
..well that and missing some key components during Saturday's semi-final against Sporting Pgh Enosi didn't help. Suspended play due to lightning allowed us to have a more representative team for the resumption of the match today; and while we owned the period, the tying goal just wouldn't come.
All-in-all a very good season, though we might need a bigger roster for next year!

AU Open defeat Beaver 3-0 in GPSL quarter finals
A good effort, and a game that was closer than it ought to have been, highlighted by a Brian H bicycle goal. We did a great job at limiting Beaver's chances.

Allegheny Utd defeat Pwnage 4-0, secure playoff berth
Now we just sit back and await the results of Sunday's games to find out our seed and who we play in the first round on July 24th. Chances are it will either be Sweep the Leg (last year's BHF team that we beat in Mars), or Wheeling FC (with Allegheny Utd O-30 player Eric F).

AU over-30's defeat Fox Chapel FC 4-2
It wasn't pretty, but we got the job done against an understrengthed Fox Chapel side. A heavy pitch with steady rain made for a sloppy game. JC opened his Spring campaign account with a driving header from a Doug B cross. Fox Chapel got one back, however, after a misplayed ball in the midfield dropped to the feet of a FC player who, upon recognizing that Stush went to CJ's for a beer, chipped in from about 35 yards. Just before the break, Doug B put us in front to stay after finishing a nice run from the left wing with a well placed shot into the far corner.
The second half was a bit sloppier than the first. The score was still 2-1 when Billy P was hacked down in the box, but the keeper made a fine save just to his right off of the ensuing penalty. Shortly after, Doug B was tripped up in the box, and while the keeper saved the initial shot driven down the middle, he was helpless to stop the rebound from going straight back to the shooter who tapped it home for a 3-1 lead. Camden closed out our scoring after a nice finish from a Billy P throw-in, and Kato Kaelin buried one in the final seconds to end the game at 4-2.

AU lose to Gateway Grill 2-0
Despite playing a fairly strong game, AU lost to Gateway Grill 2-0 at home yesterday. The game was not without controversy, however, as a questionable ruling by the referee late in the first half did not allow for proper defending of GG's indirect free kick from eight yards out. That said, GG did well to take their chances, whereas we struggled to hit the frame.

O30's defeat Tartan Devils 3-2
Last O-30 season ended with a playoff loss to the Tartan Devils in the Wembley-like quagmire at Dick's Field, ending a season which saw us lose to this team three other times. This season has started out considerably brighter. Two demons were vanquished from the '09 season in fact: not only the result against this rival, but Doug B ended his goal scoring slump from last year with a fantastic individual effort to lead the way. This was despite the fact that we were playing without our 'keeper - or anyone with any goalkeeping experience at all for that matter -, half of our back-four, our second leading goalscorer, and no subs. A great effort was put in by all, particularly Billy P, who proved to be up for the task of playing in net; and goal scorers Camden, Doug B, and Mike S.
